Pumpkin Pickin'

Sunday, we took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch.

It was 90 degrees with not a hint of fall in the air (unlike last year when it was 50, overcast and miserable), but that's what you get when you live in south Georgia.

We went with our friends the Slimps...

Their son, Hagan, is about 4 months older than Claire and the two have been best friends since they were born.

We rode the hayride through the pumpkin fields, took some shots on the corn cob cannon, wandered through the sunflower field, ate some peanuts and picked some pumpkins.

It was a fabulous day and I got some great pumpkins to decorate with.

Claire picked the orange and green one.  I picked all of the little ones, which are destined for my mantle, and the big one will be carved at a later date.  I plan on perusing through some of Martha's ideas before I get out the knife.
